Meet the team

Dawn Barron

Mentor / Coach / Consultant

Dawn is fascinated with people’s ability to do amazing things and is drawn to bringing new concepts to life.

Her extensive mix of corporate and consulting experience means she’s ideally placed to help business teams create exciting futures with practical, experience-based examples and tips for making it happen.

Dawn’s role as Director of HR Policy for GEC plc, with 140,000 employees worldwide gave her hands-on experience of the people aspects of major change, including business sales & acquisitions.  She led the introduction of Connect, their global network site for employees – 4 years before Facebook and 3 years before LinkedIn!

Dawn’s consulting experience was gained over six years with international consultants William Mercer in London, where she designed and helped clients implement innovative People engagement programmes.

She founded Human Alchemy in 2000 to pursue a freelance career and to get more time with her young son Lewis.  It worked!  She was never short of assignments with the likes of Sky TV, Maersk and Smiths Industries and local companies including Gelder Group, Lincoln College and City of Lincoln Council.  Human Alchemy was strengthened and reinvigorated when her husband Paul joined in 2010, bringing his invaluable CEO experience. And Lewis? He’s now living the life in Sydney and has a successful consulting career with Arup.

As a Lincolnshire YMCA Trustee for six years, Dawn brought strategic direction and corporate experience of change management.  Being able to help in the community is important to her and she is particularly proud to have been involved in the opening of the new Nomad Centre, bringing dignified, professional emergency housing to the homeless in her home city.

In March 2021, Dawn happily handed over Human Alchemy to Lincoln College Group, believing it a perfect fit for the longevity and growth of the business.  Dawn remains excited about the business and will stay involved as an Associate.  She is also in the process of determining what her next challenge is and no doubt Dawn’s study of and passion for Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP) will shape what that is!
